A checklist: what to verify before letting someone start work, what to keep on file, and what needs to be reported to the authorities.

Obligations start before the first day of work.

Before letting the worker start

  • Checking a valid document that entitles the person to stay in North Macedonia
  • Keeping a copy of that document on file for the entire employment period
  • A written contract, translated into a language the worker understands
  • Registering the worker for social insurance within the statutory deadlines

During employment

A change of position, working time or salary may require an amendment to the work permit. Inspections most often check exactly this: whether the actual working conditions match what is stated in the documents.

In practice

We keep a deadline calendar for our clients: expiring documents, extensions and registrations. This way nothing falls through the cracks in the middle of the season.
